Things have been busy and are only going to get more hectic with the holidays approaching. Usually, I’d post about some of these items individually but there hasn’t been time. Here is an overview of what’s been going on.
The Fun Times – Out and About Around Town
Visit to H Mart – I explored this huge Asian market that’s an attraction in itself. The produce section has a mind-boggling selection of fresh fruits and veggies with reasonable prices. I didn’t even know what half the items were and would have liked to linger and study them. Ditto for the fish department that showcases live creatures in tanks, whole fish for sale, and other delicacies. I strolled up and down rows of aisles containing dried foods, while other sections offer a variety of prepared meals. There’s even a food court and a kiddie arcade. As if that’s not enough, a French pastry shop sits adjacent to H Mart. Be warned that this marketplace gets very crowded, and it was mobbed when I went on a Monday.
Carrabbas’s Wine Dinner – My friend, Ann Meier and I, attended a Carrabbas’s Wine dinner where we had a four-course meal accompanied by a different wine for each dish. It was a delightful evening with good food and jolly company.
Dining Adventures – Being a foodie, I’ve enjoyed meals at several restaurants in the past few weeks – Boca in Winter Park, Fuji Sushi and Tibby’s New Orleans Kitchen in Altamonte Springs. And I couldn’t resist another visit to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival along with Es Smith Cohen.
Family Birthdays – Between October and December, we have four family birthdays to celebrate. And parties or lunches to go with them. You guessed it – more food!
Packing for a Cruise – With a cruise vacation looming, I’ve started to pack. Everything else will come to a screeching halt while I take a break, but now is the time to get ready.
Holidays – Thanksgiving is this month, and although I’m not hosting, it entails bringing my contribution to the extended family dinner table, getting my hair and nails done, and visiting with out-of-town cousins.
Work-Related Events
Speaking Event – I enjoyed meeting members of the Woman’s Club of Winter Park and speaking about my books to this receptive and friendly group. Book sales went well, and I was impressed by the standalone historic building where they meet in the heart of downtown Winter Park. I’ll be keeping an eye out on their programs hereafter as they have interesting speakers.
Finished BHD #19 – I finished polishing my next Bad Hair Day story and sent it off to my editor. Yay! Now I need to work on articles for a possible blog tour when the book debuts.
Started Keri Story #2 – The next book on my schedule is a follow-up to “Murder Pays a Call.” Book number two centers around a theatrical production, and I’ll meet each character as they come on stage. I have a general plot and will work it out from there.
Published a New Audiobook – Writing the Cozy Mystery: Expanded Second Edition made its debut as an audiobook. With four of my BHD series also in this format, I’m taking what I learned at the NINC conference about promoting audiobooks and have set an upcoming sale promotion for them next month. Speaking of audiobooks, Permed to Death is a Spotify Featured Listen at Indie Audiobook Deals.
Website Update – I’ve been working with Web Crafters Design on a new look for my site. Check it out now and let me know what you think – Go Here
That’s it for now as I prepare for upcoming events, shop for the holidays, take a brief break, and then launch several book promotions! What’s on your agenda?
