Allure of the Seas 2026 – The Entertainment

We saw a full production of Mama Mia on board RCCL’s Allure of the Seas. The show was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable. Another night we saw Blue Planet with the singers and dancers and differing backdrops representing water, desert, mountains, etc. We saw Blades, the ice-skating show, but skipped the high divers outside in the amphitheater since we’d seen them before. We also skipped the ventriloquist/comedian since I am not a fan of talking dummies.

Here are the divers practicing outside. Look closely and you can see one on the way down.

Another night, we went to The Price is Right game show in the auditorium. Guests could estimate the price of a featured item on their phones. Minimum bets were $20. My friend, Ann Meier, and I just stayed to watch. The top winners were called up to the stage to play more games in front of the audience. This was fun and entertaining.

One daytime entry we really liked was A Royal Mystery. We gathered in the Dazzles nightclub and joined with other passengers for teams of six or more. Then each team was handed a packet of evidence. Inside were puzzles and clues to solve, leading to the thief who stole a valuable piece of artwork from a fictional museum. Let me tell you, those puzzles were hard! Our team solved most of them, but we ran out of time before we could name the culprit. This was an unusual activity, which we greatly enjoyed.

At other times, we listened to a talk by the cruise director, who had been a Hollywood actor and leading stuntman. He showed clips from his movies and talked about his role. Then later, he introduced the ship’s captain for a Q&A session. The information provided was quite interesting, and we found ourselves chuckling at some of the captain’s witty responses.

When we didn’t have an evening show locked in, we wandered through the casino, sat in a bar sipping a glass of wine, or headed up to Central Park to listen to music. This was a pleasant, quiet interlude. Other locations also had musicians or bands, but we ended up retiring early. No late-night parties for us.

  1. I’ve never been on a large cruise ship, but this looks like great fun, especially the A Royal Mystery event. As a mystery writer, you probably had the advantage over the other participants.

    • Actually, I found the puzzles really hard, except for the witness cards. All but one of them was lying, and you had to track their movements on the museum map given us to determine who was telling the truth.
