I’m excited to announce the release of Facials Can Be Fatal (Bad Hair Day Mystery #13) from Five Star Publishing. This cozy mystery title is available in hardcover and digital editions.
Salon owner Marla Vail’s new day spa hits a snag when a client dies during a facial.
“Take a twisty mystery, add a cast of amiable characters, a dash of family drama, and a pinch of South Florida during the holiday season—they all add up to the recipe for a delightful cozy!” —Lucy Burdette, bestselling author of the Key West Food Critic Mysteries.
“Marla and Dalton solve a mystery that includes pirates and shipwrecks off the Florida coast, and readers will be standing in line to get on this series as fast as possible. Marla and Dalton work extremely well together and are a whole lot of fun to read. This is one book in a series but is also a fantastic standalone for anyone who might not have met this couple before.” Reviewed by Mary Lignor for Suspense Magazine.
“Facials Can Be Fatal is a nice, comfy, cozy mystery starring Marla Vail and her new family. Although this is one book in a series, it is a great standalone. I recommend this book to those who are cozy mystery fans and enjoy a sleuth mystery with many twists and turns.” 5 Stars! Reviewed by Susan Sewell for Readers’ Favorite

Congrats! I love the idea of the pirates in this one.
Pirates plied the Caribbean as well as the waters off Florida’s coast. We have our share of legends, and I make use of one of them in this story.
Sounds so fun!
Give it a try, Darla.
I cannot wait to read this! Sounds fantastic!! Congratulations!
Thanks, I hope you enjoy the story.
It would be a pleasure to win a copy of this book to read. It certainly sounds like it would be fun.
The only book I’m giving away is Killer Knots in my Tropical Treats contest.
Congratulations on your new release! It sounds like a book I’d enjoy reading.
Hurry and get yourself a copy!
This book is especially meaningful to me because the journal excerpts are from my father’s true-life travel journal.
Congratulations on your new release Nancy! I grew up in Daytona Beach & was always interested in the stories of shipwrecks, lost treasure, & pirates. Looking forward to reading Facials Can Be Fatal 🙂 Thanks 🙂
We have a lot of those stories about shipwrecks and pirates here and in the Florida keys. Hope you enjoy reading Facials.
Congratulations! I need to start this series. Next book purchase will include the first issue!
Permed to Death is number one in the series, James.
Hi Nancy! Shameful to say, but, I’ve yet to read any of your books. I have some serious catching up to do! Congratulations on this newest release!
Yes, indeed, please catch up on my series. Thank you for your good wishes.
This book looks amazing, as your books always are. Thanks for all you do for your readers.
Readers are amazing. You’re the reason I keep writing.
